HC Deb 13 May 1948 vol 450 c2268
32. Mr. Driberg

asked the Minister of Health if he will cause steps to be taken to combat the nuisance of mosquitoes in the neighbourhood of Tollesbury.

Mr. Bevan

The local authorities concerned have power to deal with the matter under the Public Health Act, 1936, I am making inquiries and will write to my hon. Friend.

Mr. Driberg

If my right hon. Friend finds, after his inquiries have been completed, that the local authority concerned have rejected a reasonable and economical scheme for combating this nuisance, will he consider advising them to reconsider their decision?

Mr. Bevan

I hope that the local authority will not reject it.
