§ 74. Mr. J. Lewisasked the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware that the licensed trade receives only ten coupons for the purchase of glass towels, to cover a period of two years, which are totally inadequate for the purpose; and in the interests of maintaining the highest standard of hygiene in licensed premises if he will give consideration to increasing the number of coupons.
§ Mr. H. WilsonPublic houses are given coupons at the rate of five per annum for every six workers. Ten glass cloths can be bought for five coupons and I am satisfied that the rate is fair.
§ Mr. LewisCan my right hon. Friend say that he is really satisfied that the rate is fair? Has he ever tried to dry a 1966 large number of glasses with a small number of tea cloths?
§ Mr. WilsonNot in public houses.
