HC Deb 04 May 1948 vol 450 c1080
32. Mr. Sorensen

asked the Secretary of State for War how many Q.A.I.M.N.S./R. nurses are now left in Palestine; when these are likely to be repatriated; and what categories of nurses in Palestine are likely to be sent to other areas than this country before repatriation.

Mr. Shinwell

An up-to-date return of the number of nursing officers now serving in Palestine is being obtained. When it has been received, I will write to my hon. Friend. Nursing officers serving overseas, whether in Palestine or elsewhere, are repatriated as they become due for release or complete their overseas tour of duty. Until then, they are available for posting in accordance with the needs of the Service.
