§ 21. Mr. Willisasked the Minister of Pensions if he is aware of the decision of the Court of Session that a merchant seaman's widow, whose husband died as a result of war service, is entitled to pension; and if he will take steps to give effect to the decision to ensure similarity of treatment throughout the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. BuchananIf my hon. Friend is referring to a recent ruling of the Court of Session in the case of Ballantyne, which gave a wider interpretation to war risk injuries than that previously given in the English High Court, I am glad to say that that ruling has since been followed in the High Court. There will, therefore, be no dissimilarity of treatment of cases.
