asked the Postmaster-General whether he will make a statement on the circumstances in which, after advertising for a British subject, the B.B.C. have finally appointed a Siamese as Editor of the Siamese section of the B.B.C. Far Eastern Broadcasting Service.

I understand that the B.B.C. were not satisfied with the qualifications of any British applicant for this post.

Perhaps this is another question, but can the hon. Gentleman tell us whether any control is kept over this Siamese broadcaster, and what he broadcasts?
