§ Mr. GaitskellThe annual return showing the number of coal-cutters and conveyors in use in 1947 is not yet available. The figures for Great Britain for the week ending 14th December, 1946, were: coalcutters—7,376, conveyors—10,966. These figures may be compared with 7,121 coal-cutters and 9,658 conveyors in use at the corresponding date in 1945.
