HC Deb 09 March 1948 vol 448 cc983-4
2. Mr. Skinnard

asked the Minister of National Insurance where the local office of his Ministry, to serve the urban district of Harrow, is to be situated.

The Minister of National Insurance (Mr. James Griffiths)

Until final arrangements can be made as regards accommodation, offices to serve the urban district of Harrow will be opened in five centres. It has not yet been possible to find suitable premises at which all the local office work in this district can be accommodated. At the outset, therefore, this work will be done at the following five addresses:

"Penketh," Mount Park Road, Harrow; 1–2, Dominion Parade, Station Road, Harrow; 428–432, Alexander Avenue, South Harrow; Government Buildings, Honeypot Lane, Stanmore; and Government Buildings, Northwick Park, Harrow.

Mr. Skinnard

Is the Minister aware that the dispersal of the offices in this way over an area covering 20 square miles is very much appreciated as showing his concern for the wishes of the inhabitants?
