HC Deb 08 March 1948 vol 448 c779
26. Mr. William Teeling

asked the Minister of Works what licences have been granted and what licences refused to converting Princes Hotel, Hove, into an hotel or block of flats during the last two years.

The Minister of Works (Mr. Key)

One licence for work costing £25,000 was granted in August, 1946, for the first phase of the rehabilitation of this hotel after derequisitioning. No work was carried out under the terms of this licence, which has lapsed. No licences have been refused.

Mr. Teeling

If I give the right hon. Gentleman facts and figures about 200 families who need somewhere to go, would he look into the question again and see if a licence could be granted?

Mr. Key

I do not see that that has any relationship to the Question.
