§ 5 Captain John Crowderasked the Minister of Labour why his Department are advertising for labour relations officers required by the British Electrical Authority; and what will be their duties.
§ Mr. IsaacsMy Department was not responsible for the insertion of an advertisement, and I have no information as to the nature of the duties of these officers.
§ Captain CrowderIs not the right hon. Gentleman the responsible authority for producing these labour relations officers? Do not the British Electrical Authority ask him to advise them? Cannot he say anything about it at all? I thought that he was in charge of manpower.
§ Mr. IsaacsYes, but I could not answer the Question whether my Department has been approached about this. The Question asks only about the advertising. I will inquire whether we were approached, because we should like to have the opportunity of supplying manpower for any vacancy.
§ 53. Colonel Gomme-Duncanasked the Minister of Labour how many posts of labour relations officers to be appointed by the British Electrical Authority he has been asked to fill.
§ Mr. IsaacsNone, Sir.
§ Colonel Gomme-DuncanIf the Minister is asked to provide them, will he definitely refuse?
§ Mr. IsaacsThat is very similar to a question I was asked by another hon. Member just now.
