HC Deb 02 March 1948 vol 448 c183
11. Mr. Randall

asked the Minister of Labour if he has now received the report on wages and conditions in the cotton weaving industry; and if it is his intention to publish it as a White Paper.

Mr. Isaacs

The initiative for the establishment of this Commission came from the industry. At the invitation of the parties, I appointed a chairman and two independent members to serve on the Commission. I have now received from the Commission a copy of an Interim Report which they have presented to the two sides of the industry and in view of its importance I have arranged for it to be issued as a Stationery Office publication.

Mr. Randall

Can the right hon. Gentleman state the date when that Report will be available to hon. Members?

Mr. Isaacs

Yes, Sir. It will be ready on 6th March.
