HC Deb 30 June 1948 vol 452 c2211
54. Colonel Stoddart-Scott

asked the Minister of Food to what extent the decision of some pharmacists to reduce by 50 per cent. the quantity of glucose barley sugar supplied against medical prescription is due to the decision of his Department not to replace raw material from which glucose barley sugar is made.

Dr. Summerskill

There are ample supplies of glucose barley sugar available to meet all demands against medical prescriptions, although it may not always be possible to meet the demand for the product of a particular manufacturer.
