§ 52. Commander Nobleasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is now able to announce the arrangements to avoid double taxation which have been concluded between the United Kingdom and Jamaica.
§ Mr. Glenvil HallThese arrangements have not yet been completed.
§ Commander NobleIs the Minister aware that exactly the same answer was given to me by the Chancellor of the Exchequer a year ago today; and, in view of the fact that the arrangements have been concluded with other Islands in the West Indies, could he say the reason for the delay?
§ Mr. Glenvil HallWhat the hon. and gallant Gentleman says is, of course, quite true. This Agreement has taken some considerable time. The Executive Council of Jamaica has now agreed, and I hope that a draft will be going out for consideration and signature in a few weeks' time.
