After consultation with the local authority associations I have decided to appoint a representative committee to review the whole 1110 field of local government law in Scotland and to prepare the necessary measures for its revision and consolidation. The Committee will comprise representatives of the political parties, of the local authority associations, and of the Government Departments concerned. Mr. Matthew G. Fisher, K.C., has agreed to act as Chairman of the Committee, the constitution and terms of reference of which I shall with permission circulate in the OFFICIAL REPORT.
