§
Lords Amendment: In page 2, line 9, at end, insert:
(4) A draft of any Order in Council under this section shall be laid before Parliament
§ Motion made, and Question proposed, "That this House doth agree with the Lords in the said Amendment."
§ Mr. Assheton (City of London)I believe this Amendment arises from a point which has worried some hon. Members on this side of the House as to whether there should be some check on the Minister when he decides to take over the charitable trusts from the Charity Commissioners. I understand that this Amendment deals with that difficulty, and that, in fact, there will have to be an order which will come before this House to enable discussion to take place, if necessary. If that is the correct understanding, we on this side of the House are satisfied.
§ The Minister of Education (Mr. Tomlinson)That is so.
§ Question put, and agreed to.
