§ 25. Mr. J. Langford-Holtasked the Minister of Fuel and Power whether he is aware that government servants owning private cars and whose vehicles have been authorised for use on official duties at the request of their respective Departments are denied the right to use the standard petrol ration in the same way as an ordinary citizen drawing petrol for business purposes; and whether he will take steps to allow such persons the standard ration.
§ The Minister of Fuel and Power (Mr. Gaitskell)I am considering whether civil servants who use their private cars for official business can be treated in the same way as the employees of large private firms which are given bulk allowances of petrol.
