§ 42. Mr. Dumpletonasked the Secretary of State for War how many Roumanian Volksdeutsche remain in this country as prisoners of war; and whether, as these men have no homes in Germany and cannot return to Roumania, he will arrange for them to be offered civilian status for work in this country.
§ Mr. ShinwellFifty-five remain in this country as prisoners of war. They have all applied to stay here as civilians. Thirty-eight have been accepted and the applications of the rest are still under consideration.
