§ 59. Mr. Platts-Mills
asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what reply he has given to the request of the 841 U.S. Secretary of State that, in accordance with Section 115 (f) of the Foreign Assistance Act, 1948, His Majesty's Government should agree to the retention in Germany of capital equipment scheduled for removal as reparations from the Western zones of Germany.
§ Mr. Mayhew
No request has been received from the United States Secretary of State regarding the retention in Germany of any specific capital equipment scheduled for removal as part of the British reparations programme. If such a request is received, my right hon. Friend would naturally be prepared to consider it on its merits.
§ Mr. Godfrey Nicholson
Are we to understand that that equipment is being moved at the present moment?
