HC Deb 08 July 1948 vol 453 cc557-8
20. Mr. Medland

asked the Minister of Health if he will now inform the House on the action the Government propose to take to implement the recommendations for legislation contained in the Local Government Boundary Commission's report for 1947.

Mr. Bevan

I have nothing further to add to the reply given to my hon. Friend the Member for North St. Pancras (Mr. House) on 8th April.

Mr. Medland

Can the Minister inform us whether it is proposed to discuss this report in the House prior to legislation being promulgated?

Mr. Bevan

I suppose hon. Members have many opportunities for raising these matters if they so desire. I have no desire to obstruct a Debate, but there is no early prospect of legislation.
