§ 46. Mr. George Wardasked the Prime Minister whether he has yet received a report from the committee of business men appointed to inquire into the methods of ordering aircraft for the three airways corporations; and what are the Committee's recommendations.
§ Mr. H. MorrisonI have been asked to reply. As my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister explained to my hon. Friend the 372 Member for Reading (Mr. Mikardo) on 3rd May, this is not a formal committee of inquiry and it may not present a formal report. It has not yet finished its work.
§ Mr. WardCan the right hon. Gentleman give the House any idea when we shall hear what the committee's recommendations are?
§ Mr. MorrisonI am not sure that the House will be able to do so. The appointment of the committee was not announced in this House in a formal way. It is an informal consultation, by which advice is given. It is for the Minister to decide. No doubt if any changes of policy arise the Minister will announce them to the House.
§ Mr. MorrisonIt depends upon what the Question is.
