HC Deb 05 July 1948 vol 453 c35
74. Mr. Skeffington-Lodge

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the composition of the recently-established Anglo-Spanish Consultative Committee; and what are its objects.

The Economic Secretary to the Treasury (Mr. Douglas Jay)

The Committee is composed, on the Spanish side, of representatives of their commercial and economic departments; our representation is provided by His Majesty's Embassy in Madrid. The purpose of the Committee is to keep the course of trade and payments under review.
