§ 40. Professor Savoryasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs when the appeal of Mme. Marie Marynowska against her sentence to twelve years' imprisonment will be heard, and if, in view of the fact that she was employed as interpreter in the British Embassy in Warsaw from 1945 till the time of her arrest, he will arrange that she be given legal assistance, and that an observer from the British Embassy will be present at the trial.
Mr. McNeilThe date of the appeal is not yet fixed. During her trial, Mrs. Marynowska was allowed the aid of a legal representative, and a member of the staff of His Majesty's Embassy was present throughout the proceedings. I presume similar arrangements will be permitted at the appeal.
