§ 34. Professor Savoryasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has made any further protest in Bucharest against the trial and condemnation of M. Maniu, as being contrary to the terms of Article 3 of the Treaty of Peace with Roumania.
Mr. McNeilNo, Sir. We have been studying documents relating to the case, including those recently published by the Roumanian Government. My right hon. Friend is considering what action can usefully be taken in respect of the proscription of M. Maniu's party and the suppression of the Opposition Press.
