HC Deb 26 February 1948 vol 447 c2125
77. Mr. W. D. Griffiths

asked the Minister of Health what arrangements he is making to arrange for an adequate supply of spectacle frames and ophthalmic lenses in preparation for the inauguration of the supplementary ophthalmic service under the terms of the National Health Service Act.

Mr. Bevan

The production of spectacle lenses and frames is at present more than sufficient to meet home demands. Discussions with the trade will began shortly with the object of securing adequate supplies for the supplementary ophthalmic service.
