HC Deb 26 February 1948 vol 447 c2121
46. Mr. Linstead

asked the Lord President of the Council whether he has yet appointed any advisory committees from industry to advise him upon the scope and details of the exhibition to be held in this country in 1951.

The Lord President of the Council (Mr. Herbert Morrison)

I have not yet appointed any committee to advise upon the scope and details of the Festival of Britain, 1951. The Government, however, have consulted the Arts Council of Great Britain, and the Council of Industrial Design, and have had the benefit of advice tendered by a deputation from the Royal Society of Arts. A Council to supervise the arrangements for the Festival of Britain will be constituted in due course.
