Lowasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the opening of fire or the taking of any offensive action by British troops in Greece is within the discretion of local commanders or is subject to a directive from His Majesty's Government; and if the latter, what is the relevant part of the directive.
Mr. McNeilA directive approved by His Majesty's Government has been issued to British troops in Greece. The relevant part of this directive states that British troops will not become involved in fighting unless they are attacked, or unless their security is directly threatened.
