HC Deb 19 February 1948 vol 447 c1315
25. Captain Bullock

asked the Minister of Education whether he is aware of the difficulties experienced in obtaining an adequate supply of French films suitable for showing in schools in this country; and what action he is taking to assist in this matter.

Mr. Tomlinson

I am not aware of any special difficulties. The Ministry is at present negotiating with the French authorities with a view to an exchange of educational films between the two countries.

Captain Bullock

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that the majority of schools which ask for French educational films obtain only old-fashioned films, which are scratched and worn?

Mr. Tomlinson

If they will bring their requirements to the notice of the section of my Department which deals with this matter it will assist in the negotiations which are taking place.
