§ 37. Mr. Thomas Reidasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he can make a statement regarding the attitude of Sweden towards his proposals for a Western Union in Europe, political or economic.
Mr. McNeilThe whole question of the attitude to be adopted towards proposals for Western Union is, I understand, to be discussed by the Swedish, Norwegian and Danish Foreign Ministers at a meeting on 23rd February, and I should prefer not to make any statement before those deliberations are concluded.
