HC Deb 11 February 1948 vol 447 cc355-6
17. Commander Noble

asked the Postmaster-General what is the average number

Mr. Willis

Will my hon. Friend say that he is satisfied that the effect of the pay code is not to prevent chief petty officers from signing on?

Mr. Dugdale

No, Sir. I am satisfied that, in general, petty officers and chief petty officers are better off than they were before, having regard both to the pay code and to the extra amenities which have been granted to all ranks.
