asked the Minister of Food if he has considered the special difficulties of milk retailers serving rural areas who now find it impossible to maintain a full delivery service on the distributive margin allowed; and if he will make a statement.

I would refer the hon. Member to my reply to my hon. Friend, the Member for Clitheroe (Mr. Randall) on 26th January.

Has the Minister agreed to receive a deputation from the producers and retailers in the area?

Mr. Strachey

I do not know whether we have been invited to do so, but I shall be quite willing to do so.
