§ Motion made, and Question proposed, "That the Clause, as amended, stand part of the Bill."
§ Colonel Gomme-DuncanThere was an Amendment to this Clause standing in 1860 my name and the names of some of my hon. and right hon. Friends—in page 7, line 24, after "to," insert "Scotland or"—which was put down as being dependent on what the Minister was going to say on earlier Amendments which we had on the Order Paper. In view of that, I wish to make it clear that we were not proposing to break up the United Kingdom in the Amendment put down, and that, in view of the assurances given, we should, in any case, had it been called, have asked leave to withdraw it.
§ Question put, and agreed to.
§ Clause, as amended, ordered to stand part of the Bill.
