HC Deb 13 December 1948 vol 459 c818
21. Mr. Blackburn

asked the Minister of Food what are the special arrangements being made to obtain limited supplies of sausage casings for this country; and what price is being paid and what facilities given to firms in this country requiring such casings to obtain them direct.

Mr. Strachey

Traders in this country are granted licences by the Board of Trade to export sheep and beef casings to the United States of America and Canada, and to use not more than half the dollars so received to purchase hog casings from these countries at the ruling market prices.
