HC Deb 13 December 1948 vol 459 cc822-3
30. Captain Marsden

asked the Minister of Transport if his attention has been drawn to the question of road safety at pedestrian crossings of the Portsmouth Road at Esher; and what steps he proposes to take to indicate clearly to pedestrians the crossings they should use.

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Transport (Mr. Callaghan)

These pedestrian crossings are properly marked, and in my view, they are at the right places. My right hon. Friend is considering how to improve the observance of pedestrian crossings and intends to institute a special campaign for this purpose next spring, with the help of local authorities and others concerned.
