HC Deb 28 April 1948 vol 450 c466
The Lord Advocate

I beg to move, in page 16, line 31, after "thereof," to insert: and will during the tenancy effect such replacement or renewal of the buildings or other fixed equipment as may be rendered necessary by natural decay or by fair wear and tear. The purpose of this Amendment is to make it clear that the replacement or renewal of the buildings or other fixed equipment which may be rendered necessary during the tenancy, owing to natural decay or fair wear and tear, shall be the obligation of the landlord. Some doubts were expressed in Committee whether, after the initial duty on the part of the landlord to provide and maintain fixed equipment, his obligations continued throughout the whole currency of the lease.

Amendment agreed to.

Further Amendments made: In page 16, line 38, leave out "order," and insert "repair."

In line 43, leave out from beginning, to end of line 46.—[The Lord Advocate.]
