§ 17. Mr. Errollasked the Minister of Labour if he will make a statement on the strike of vehicle builders.
§ Mr. IsaacsI understand that work is to be resumed tomorrow.
§ Mr. ErrollUnder what conditions—the old or the new conditions?
§ Mr. IsaacsUnder the old conditions. The Ministry have tried, in this case, to see that the men put themselves within the law before any steps are taken to act on their behalf. Now that they have undertaken to return to work, the arbitration tribunal, at their request, has postponed its hearing, by agreement with the employers. When the men have returned to work every effort will be made to see whether a settlement by negotiation can be obtained.
