§ 35. Mr. Skinnardasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is now satisfied with the staffing of the Jamaica Mental Hospital; and what steps have been taken by the Government of Jamaica to ensure that this institution is properly conducted.
§ Mr. Rees-WilliamsI could not say that the staffing of the Jamaica Mental Hospital is yet wholly satisfactory, but a number of steps have been taken to improve it, including post-graduate training in England of two medical officers for the hospital and the recruitment and training of additional nursing staff. The Governor has appointed a Special Committee of Investigation and its report is expected shortly.
