HC Deb 29 October 1947 vol 443 c869
49. Mr. Swingler

asked the Minister of Defence the total land requirements on Cannock Chase now being submitted by the Service and Supply Departments; and in view of the fact that these proposals involve the denial of public access to a rural amenity over a wide area, if he will issue instructions for reconsideration of the proposals.

Mr. Alexander

The total demands of the Departments affect about 1,850 acres, but, as stated yesterday by my hon. Friend the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Town and Country Planning, these proposals are still under consideration. The points raised by my hon. Friend are being borne in mind and full opportunity will be given for local representations.
