§ 7. Lieut.-Colonel Sir Thomas Moore
asked the Minister of Transport how many tankers have been or will be released as a result of the abolition of the basic petrol ration; and for what purpose is it intended to use them.
§ Mr. Callaghan
The abolition of the basic petrol ration will reduce, by some seven to 10 tankers a year, according to the source from which supplies would be drawn, the number which we would otherwise need to charter for dollars from the United States.
