asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs how many refugees from the Russian zone of Germany have entered the British zone in 1947.

Mr. Bevin

In the first nine months of this year, 89,000 refugees entered with permission. The number of unauthorised entrants during the same period is estimated to be about 100,000.
