HC Deb 19 May 1947 vol 437 c1999
71. Mr. Rees-Williams

asked the Minister of Food whether he is aware that there is a shortage of fish in Croydon, and that on certain days during the last fortnight no fish has arrived in the borough; and what steps he is taking, in view of his appeal and of the public desire for this commodity, to make a sufficient and constant supply of fish available.

Mr. Strachey

Landings of fish were poor until last week, mainly because of bad weather, and I fear that Croydon, in common with other parts of the country, has felt the effects. Supplies are now improving markedly and should stay at a high level during the summer.
