HC Deb 15 May 1947 vol 437 c1707
74. Mr. Lipson

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department why difficulties are put in the way of Swiss citizens applying for visas to enable them to spend a holiday in this country; and if he will take steps to have these difficulties removed.

The Under-Secretary of State for the Home Department (Mr. Oliver)

It is the desire of the Government that full facilities should be given Swiss citizens to visit this country for purposes of business or pleasure, and my information is that visas for such journeys are readily granted. If the hon. Member will send me particulars of any cases he has in mind, I shall be glad to look into them.

Mr. Lipson

Will the Minister call for a report to find out how many visas have been granted and how many have been refused recently?
