§ 22. Sir W. Smithers
asked the Minister of Education whether, in view of the fact that the nation has been summoned to a day of National Prayer on 6th July, and that the two Archbishops and the Moderator of the Free Church General Council have advocated as a standard of national life the Ten Commandments and the Four Gospels, he will circularise all local education authorities with a view to arranging for special instruction to be given in all schools on these two subjects between now and 6th July.
§ Mr. Hardman
No, Sir. I have no doubt that the attention of local education authorities and schools will be called to the importance of this occasion by other means.
§ Sir W. Smithers
Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that many Bills introduced by this Government violate the Commandments:Thou shalt not steal …. Thou shalt not covet ….and must end in disaster?
