HC Deb 24 March 1947 vol 435 c827
2. Mr. Wyatt

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what assistance, either in training, equipment or munitions, has been given by this country to the French Government to aid French forces about to proceed to Indo-China.

The Minister of State (Mr. McNeil)

No aid specifically designed for Indo-China has been given to the French armed forces.

Mr. Wyatt

Is not my right hon. Friend aware that a report by the French semiofficial agency has said that no less than £20 million worth of equipment has been delivered by the British to the French forces in Indo-China for the specific purpose of quelling the Viet-Nam rebellion?

Mr. McNeil

I have nothing to add to the reply I have given.
