HC Deb 19 March 1947 vol 435 cc410-1
70. Mr. Bramall

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, what proportion of the supplies of consumer goods needed to work the points system for German miners comes from imports; and what proportion is diverted from other German users.

Mr. J. Hynd

Apart from a quantity of clothing already purchased and certain raw materials, the goods concerned will be provided from German sources. In the case of foodstuffs, coffee only will be specially imported.

71. Mr. Bramall

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether he is satisfied that sufficient special food and consumer goods will be forthcoming to honour the points earned by miners in the British zone.

Mr. J. Hynd

Yes, Sir.
