§ 69. Sir W. Smithers
asked the Minister of Food what was the value of pears and 946 tangerines which arrived last week in the Tyne; and how much of it was fit for human consumption.
§ Dr. Summerskill
I regret that the information for which the hon. Member asks is not at present available, but I am making inquiries and will supply him with such particulars as I am able to obtain as soon as possible. I am informed that much of this fruit, which was imported on private account and not by the Ministry of Food, had to be condemned as unfit for human consumption.
§ Sir W. Smithers
May I take it that the hon. Lady will send me full particulars when she receives them?
