8. Sir John Mellor

asked the Minister of Works if, with reference to the expression, "all other powers enabling him," contained in the Control of Building Operations (No. 8) Order, S.R. & O., 1947, No. 74, he will identify the powers and explain why the said powers were not specified in the Order.

These powers are to revoke or vary a previous Order, and they derive from Regulation 98 of the Defence Regulations. I am advised that the words referred to are common form, but I am looking into the question further.
