HC Deb 06 March 1947 vol 434 c814

Lords Amendment: In page 25, line 27, at the end, insert: and (e) shall be published in such a way as, in the opinion of the Treasury, to give any person entitled to the benefit of it an adequate opportunity of getting to know of it, unless in their opinion publication is not necessary for that purpose.

Mr. Glenvil Hall

I beg to move, "That this House doth agree with the Lords in the said Amendment."

This Amendment is largely a drafting one, for greater clarity. It requires the Treasury to give adequate publicity to general permissions, consents and authorities given under this Clause.

Mr. Assheton

I think this Amendment is a little more than drafting, but, nevertheless, I entirely approve of it, and hope the House will agree to it.
