HC Deb 26 June 1947 vol 439 cc679-80
50. Gammans

asked the Minister of Labour to what extent opposition has been made by the trades unions to part time working by women in the wool textile industry; and what steps he is taking to overcome it.

Mr. Ness Edwards

I have no knowledge of any such difficulty affecting the development of part-time working by women in the wool textile industry. On the other hand, there are about 8,950 women engaged on part-time work in this industry.
