HC Deb 26 June 1947 vol 439 cc660-1
20. Mr. Hastings

asked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that a mental nurse of many years experience, who holds the diploma of the Royal Medico Psychological Association and who desires to increase her efficiency as a mental nurse by becoming a State-Registered (General) nurse in addition, has to undergo three years' training, whereas an individual who has two years' nursing experience in the Services can take the same examination after one year; and whether he will take steps to reduce this inequality of treatment.

Mr. Bevan

It is contemplated that this training period will shortly be reduced to two years.
