HC Deb 19 June 1947 vol 438 cc2205-6
23. Mr. Medlicott

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how soon he anticipates giving permission fat midweek racing to be resumed at Boundary Park greyhound track. Norwich.

Mr. Ede

I do not anticipate giving such permission.

Mr. Medlicott

Is the Minister aware that at a nearby speedway track mid-week fixtures have been taking place for the last month attracting many more spectators than greyhound racing does, and what is the justification for discrimination against the greyhound track?

Mr. Skeffington-Lodge

Greyhound racing is a racket.

Mr. Ede

I will have the speedway visitors tabulated and consider the statistics.
