HC Deb 19 June 1947 vol 438 c2212
33. Mr. Osborne

asked the Minister of Health why no reply has been sent from his Department to numerous letters from Immingham Parish Council requesting sanction to an agreement with the Grimsby Rural District Council to use 12 acres of land as a playing field and a community centre; and if he will give this sanction forthwith.

Mr. Bevan

I have no trace of the receipt of any letter from the Immingham Parish Council. I am, however, in communication with the Grimsby Rural District Council, and consent will be given on the receipt of certain necessary documents.

Mr. Osborne

But the communication was sent by the rural district council of Grimsby months ago. Because there has been no answer from the Minister's Department, the working class children of Immingham have been denied the use of these playing fields. Will the Minister expedite a decision in this matter?

Mr. Bevan

I have answered that, as soon as the necessary documents can be obtained, the matter will be further considered.
